Cookie & LocalStorage Policy

The short version

Swindon Plasterer does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The site uses a cookieless analytics beacon, a small theme preference stored in your browser's localStorage, and short-lived session tokens stored in sessionStorage while you are signed in as a tradesman.

1. Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, rough location, device type). The beacon is cookieless — it does not set cookies and does not track you across websites. It runs from static.cloudflareinsights.com.

2. localStorage — theme preference

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is remembered in localStorage under the key theme_v1. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

3. sessionStorage — tradesman session

When a plastering business signs in (via the email magic link), a short-lived access token is kept in sessionStorage. It is used to load your dashboard and is removed when you close the tab or browser. The token never leaves your device except when sent to our own API as x-tradesman-token.

4. Cookies we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party trackers, or cross-site fingerprinting. The admin area uses a secure, HttpOnly session cookie required to keep you signed in — it is never used for tracking. You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser's settings without affecting your ability to browse the site.
