Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 August 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Swindon Plasterer marketplace at swindonplasterer.com (“the service”), operated by Swindon Plasterer (“we”, “us”). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What the service is

Swindon Plasterer is a marketplace and introduction service. We connect homeowners who need plastering work with plasterers who serve the Swindon area. We are not a party to any contract formed between a homeowner and a plasterer, and we do not carry out or supervise the work.

Positions #1–#10 on the leaderboard are bought; every position below them is earned on reviews and listing quality. A winning bid holds its place for up to 7 days, not a guaranteed 7 — another business can outbid it sooner. Reviews, verification status and profile information are shown separately to help you make your own judgement. Listing a business does not mean we endorse, vet or guarantee it.

3. Homeowners

  • When you submit an enquiry, we share it with a small number of matched plasterers who may contact you directly.
  • We do not guarantee that you will receive a response, or that any particular plasterer is available.
  • You are responsible for choosing a plasterer and for checking their qualifications, insurance and references before work begins.
  • Any work is agreed and performed directly between you and the plasterer, under your own contract with them.

4. Plasterers / businesses

  • You must keep your profile information accurate, honest and up to date.
  • Claiming is not verification. Claiming a profile gives you control of it; the “Verified” mark is granted separately after we receive proof of public liability insurance and confirm your identity (for limited companies, a Companies House number).
  • You may increase your visibility on the leaderboard by placing a bid for one of the paid slots, positions #1–#10 — every position below them is earned on reviews and listing quality. A winning bid holds its place for up to 7 days, not a guaranteed 7. Visibility affects your position on the board only and is not a guarantee of leads, enquiries or ranking.
  • When you receive an enquiry, you must use the homeowner’s details only to respond to that enquiry and in line with data protection law.

5. Payments and paid board slots

A paid slot is bought by placing a bid. Bids are purchased by bank transfer (card payment is being added). Payments for card bids are processed by Stripe, and your card details are handled by Stripe — we do not store them. A winning bid holds its place for up to 7 days or until another business outbids it, and a displaced bid carries down to the highest slot it still clears. Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis — contact helpme@swindonplasterer.com.

6. Acceptable use

  • You must not post false, misleading or unlawful listings or reviews.
  • You must not spam, harass or misuse the details of homeowners or other users.
  • You must not attempt to manipulate rankings, reviews or the matching system, or interfere with the service’s security.

7. Intellectual property

The service and its content (except business profiles you submit) are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the service for its intended purpose but not copy, scrape or republish it without permission. You grant us a licence to display the profile information you submit.

8. Liability

Plasterers are independent businesses and are responsible for the work they carry out and for any contract they enter into with a homeowner. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for the acts or omissions of plasterers and for any loss arising from work they carry out.

We provide the service “as is” and, to the extent permitted by law, exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss and for loss of profits, data or business. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they were last revised, and we will highlight material changes.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
